Because the axes are scored separately, a narrow win on one axis and a landslide on another produce the same letter β which is worth remembering when a result feels only half right.
This is sixteen questions, not the full inventory, and the MBTI framework itself is popular rather than settled β psychologists have long criticised its reliability, and people often get different types when they retake it.
